What do I need to bring to competition day?

Updated by Leila Firestone

If you are packing for competition day and you aren’t sure what to bring, look no further! We’ve compiled a list of necessary items that you need to compete, as well as strongly recommended items to make sure you are prepared to troubleshoot or replace any parts. This list applies to both the standard and JROTC editions of the CoDrone EDU (unless otherwise specified).

Required to compete

This section lists the equipment that is necessary to participate in the piloting and autonomous challenges.

In addition to the necessary items above, we highly recommend bringing the following extras.

  • Backup AA batteries
  • Extra CoDrone EDU batteries
  • Extra silicone bumpers
  • A portable USB power bank for piloting. A 2000mAh power bank is roughly equal to two sets of AA batteries.
  • Extra motors
  • Extra propellers
  • Screwdriver included in the CoDrone EDU kit (for replacing motors or frames)
  • Extra frame
  • Laptop charger
  • User Manual
  • Extra data-compatible Micro USB cable
  • USB flash drive for storing your code
  • Labels/stickers for labeling your team's equipment
  • Tweezers (for motor replacements and silicone bumpers)
  • A Li-Po (lithium polymer) safe bag for transporting batteries

Let us know if we're missing something on this list!
