Who is CoDrone EDU (JROTC ed.) for? Can I purchase CoDrone EDU (JROTC ed.)?

In recent years, there have been a lot of policy changes affecting how schools and military-funded programs procure drone technology for their students. One of these is the American Security Drone Act, which places restrictions on where certain parts are sourced from. To address changing policies, Robolink has designed a solution for U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) programs and other similar programs to purchase CoDrone EDU and participate in the national Aerial Drone Competition.
The CoDrone EDU (JROTC edition) was designed to use sourced parts from approved manufacturers. Previously, JROTC programs could only participate in the competition if they purchased the CoDrone EDU using alternative sources of funding. The name “JROTC edition” in the product name refers to this program, but there are other programs and school districts that may be subjected to the same restrictions.
Can anyone purchase CoDrone EDU (JROTC ed.)?
Although the name references the U.S. Army youth program, anyone can buy CoDrone EDU (JROTC ed.) even if not required to satisfy policy restrictions.
Do I need to purchase CoDrone EDU (JROTC ed.)?
Check with your organization to see if you are required to buy drones that are not sourced from and assembled in restricted countries. It may be that your school or organization is only checking for 889 Compliance. In that case, CoDrone EDU would meet those requirements. CoDrone EDU (JROTC ed.) will provide the same experience as the standard edition of CoDrone EDU and does not provide an advantage in competition.
