What is Section 889?
Section 889 refers to a provision within the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that restricts the use of telecommunications and video surveillance technology from specific manufacturers or their affiliates. The list of manufacturers includes, but is not limited to, the following:

- ZTE Corporation
- Hytera Communications Corporation
- Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Company
- Dahua Technology Company
